Think about 3-act setup, conflict, resolution
Potential streams
1:
> Open with boy playing game, level 998
> Critter looks in through window, observing the game
> Power goes out; blank, horrified, angry stare; boy goes to window
2:
> Unplugging rather than chewing
> Shows the critter with the cable, making its way back to its den
> Boy scrambles outside to the roof (via window, or perhaps runs back to attic and comes out, or grabs a ladder)
> Chase and scramble - dragging on cord, reeling in, scratching, swatting, etc
> Critter lures the boy outside in the scramble, and locks the door. (perhaps without him knowing at first - he goes to fix the power cable)
OPTIONS:
a.) critter motivation isn't revealed until the very end
b.) critter gets the power, and there's theft back and forth to playing the game - perhaps they don't see each other for a little while
c.) house is the setting for the struggles, TV ends up
3:
> Compromise: Boy and critter come together to play the game - no resolution
> Competition: house gets ruined and the two go to the stump to play together
> Winner: boy plugs the power back in, and slips, gets caught; while hanging from the cable, he is outside his window and sees the critter playing the game
> Critter gets the boy outside and locked the door, go from the boy banging on the door and running around the house to get in, then to the critter in the room, playing the game
